El Mancebo de Arévalo. Vida y Obra

IS-LE would like to call the attention to the exhibition: “El Mancebo de Arévalo. Vida y Obra.” At the Museo de Ávila, Spain

This exhibition aims to raise awareness of the figure of Mancebo de Arévalo, one of the most representative and original authors of the Moorish and crypto-Islamic culture and Castilian literature, who wrote his works in aljamía (Castilian written in Arabic characters). To avoid surveillance of the Inquisition, his works circulated clandestinely in the Moorish areas during the 16^th century, and were always signed with a pseudonym to keep his identity secret.
